Santa Rosa Injectable Fillers
As we age, gravity, sun exposure and years of facial muscle movement inevitably take their toll on the way we look. However, many people from Santa Rosa to Marin County have discovered that Restylane® and other injectable fillers can help restore a more youthful-looking appearance. However, it is very important who is performing your injections and not just which product is used. Dr. Victor Lacombe applies his many years of facial plastic surgery experience to achieving natural-looking results for his patients. In fact, he has been so successful in using fillers that he has been selected as a national trainer of other physicians.

Injectable Filler Basics
At his office in Santa Rosa, Dr. Lacombe uses Restylane and other fillers for wrinkle correction, lip enhancement, chin augmentation, filling cheek depressions, redefining lip border, and softening acne scars. To accomplish these goals, there are several fillers that can be used.
- Restylane: This filler is a clear gel made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in your skin that helps to add volume and hydration. It is proven to provide long-lasting correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. The most common areas for treatment are the lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) and "smile lines" (nasolabial folds). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for six to nine months, or even longer.
- JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel: This smooth gel is also made with hyaluronic acid. When eased under the skin, JUVÉDERM instantly restores volume and smoothes away facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds. The results of JUVÉDERM last for six to nine months, or even longer.
- Sculptra® Aesthetic: Sculptra can be used to improve the appearance of aging skin, folds, indented chin surfaces, hollowed cheeks, and sunken or hollow eyes. Sculptra is a safe and biocompatible material. Results can last up to two years or more.
- RADIESSE®: The unique composition of RADIESSE provides the immediate visual improvement common with other fillers, along with the benefit of long-lasting results. This is because RADIESSE is made of very tiny, smooth calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres. The microspheres form a scaffold through which your body's own collagen grows. RADIESSE allows physicians to treat large areas and deep wrinkles.
Dr. Lacombe will work with you to determine which of these treatments is best for your age, desired outcome, skin type, facial structure and lifestyle.
The Procedure
Treatment with injectable fillers is usually a simple, 30 minute procedure. The most commonly-reported side effects are temporary redness, bruising and swelling at the injection site (usually resolving within a day or two). There is minimal - if any - recovery time necessary, so you can return to work or normal activities immediately. Avoiding blood-thinning medications such as Aspirin, Advil, and Aleve for several days prior to treatment will help reduce your risk of bruising.
Results
The most important fact to remember about injectable fillers is that the results last from several months to several years, but not forever. Injected material is eventually metabolized by the body, which is why you will need periodic treatments to maintain your youthful appearance. You should not expect the same long-lasting results that may be gained from cosmetic surgery. Dr. Lacombe can help you determine how long you can go between Restylane treatments near Marin County, CA to maintain your results.
You Have Options
Injectable fillers may be used alone, in combination with other fillers, in conjunction with non-surgical procedures in Santa Rosa like BOTOX® Cosmetic, or in conjunction with facial surgery procedures. Some very deep folds in the face or brow may be more effectively treated with cosmetic surgery, such as a Santa Rosa facelift or brow lift. Dr. Lacombe will work with you to determine if an injectable procedure or a combination of procedures is the best choice for you.
